Q. Who is my employer during this contract-employment assignment?
A: You (as a Job Applicant) have applied for employment with a specific company (your Prospective Employer). This company has decided to use the services of TrialByHire.com as part of their employment hiring process. TrialByHire.com is owned/operated by the Ohio-based company "Top Echelon Contracting, Inc." (which has has employed over 12,000 contract employees since 1992). Therefore, Top Echelon Contracting, Inc., will be your W2 employer during your contract-employment assignment.
Q: What type of paperwork or job application form do I need to complete?
A: Top Echelon Contracting will issue you an Employment Paperwork packet for your contract assignment. This paperwork is normally emailed to your personal email account and will include the following items: Employment Contract, Background Information and Authorization Form, Optional Benefits to Employees, Form W-4, Form I-9, Direct Deposit Agreement, Payroll Policy Form, and a Weekly Timesheet.
Q: Is there a pre-employment background check?
A: Yes, Top Echelon Contracting does require and perform a criminal background check and Social Security Number (SSN) verification on ALL of its hires. And, the company with whom you are applying for employment may require additional background checks such as previous-employment verifications, verification of your education, etc. (Results are required prior to starting work.)
Q: Is there a pre-employment drug test?
A: The answer is...It depends. Top Echelon Contracting does require a mandatory drug screen for all of our healthcare employees. However, we do not typically require a drug screening for our non-healthcare employees, unless the company with whom you are applying for employment requests it. But, as your W2 employer, we reserve the right to conduct any random drug screens as we deem necessary.
Q: How am I paid?
A: You will be paid weekly based on the time sheets you submit. You will be paid for every hour you work. You will receive a timesheet within your initial Employment Packet. Timesheets must be signed by both the employee (you) and an authorized representative of the company with whom you are assigned. Timesheets are due each Monday by 1pm Eastern Time for the previous workweek. Timesheets may be faxed directly to our payroll office at FAX: (330) 454-1043. Paychecks are mailed each Thursday to the address you provide our office, however, we recommend you sign up for direct deposit. If you select our direct deposit option, your money will be deposited into your bank account each Friday. Tip: Direct deposit is a quicker, simpler, and a much safer means of getting your money into your hands (as opposed to printed and snail-mailed paychecks that can get lost or delayed).
Q: How much will I be paid?
A: Your Prospective Employer determines your pay rate during your assignment through TrialByHire.com.
Q: Will I receive any type of benefits while I am under the contract assignment? If so, what are the costs of these benefits?
A: All employees of Top Echelon Contracting are offered the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
(Employee Benefits Overview). You will be eligibile on the 1st of the month AFTER you have worked your first 30 days with Top Echelon Contracting, Inc. The cost of these benefits varies depending on coverage. Exact cost information will be provided in your initial Employment Packet.
Q: Do I have to pay a fee to work through TrialByHire.com?
A: There is no fee to you (the Job Applicant) when working through Trial By Hire and Top Echelon Contracting.
Q: Am I obligated to work the entire duration of the contract assignment if I decide I don’t like the job?
A: Your assignment with Top Echelon Contracting is an “at-will” employment assignment. This means that you can end your assignment at any time, for any reason whatsoever. And likewise, Top Echelon Contracting can end your assignment at any time, for any reason whatsoever. Neither party is required to give advanced notice to the other when an assignment is being terminated. However, it is common practice for employees in Corporate America to give a two-week resignation notice to their employer whenever possible, and we are always very appreciative when this professional courtesy is extended to us!
